Employees Receive Visit from Therapy Dog Rose through Monson Savings Bank's Employee Wellness Program
Monson Savings Bank has always made it their mission to take care of their employees and ensure that they not only are financially fit but also physically and mentally well. This has come in many forms over the years, from extra stimulus pay, to a comprehensive healthcare plan, fitness challenges, nutrition seminars and mindfulness training, among others. Most recently the bank arranged to have a certified and trained Therapy Dog, Rose, visit all locations to give a little comfort, relief, support and cuddles, of course.
With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing family members and friends to keep their distance for almost a year now, many are missing the happiness and comfort associated with normal daily interactions, including Monson Savings Bank’s employees.
“This year has been incredibly challenging for so many. Due to the virus, everyone has face restricted access to loved ones when it feels like they need it most. That lack of contact with friends and family is incredibly unpleasant and can be somewhat isolating,” said Dodie Carpentier, Vice President, Human Resources of Monson Savings Bank. “Pets can provide an immense amount of comfort, love and joy to those who are lucky enough to have them. When considering options for our Employee Wellness Program, we saw this as an opportunity to provide our employees with some of that happiness during a challenging time.”
Rose, a trained and certified Therapy Dog, was the star at Monson Savings Bank when she made her visits to the bank’s locations, along with her owner and Occupational Therapist Tammy Warren. Rose typically works at Encompass Health Rehabilitation in Ludlow but was kind enough to make time in her busy schedule to bring some love to Monson Savings Bank employees.
Arrangements for the visits were organized by Dodie Carpentier, Vice President of Human Resources, who manages the Monson Savings Bank Employee Wellness Program. The program was created in 2010 in an effort to ensure that the bank remained focused on their goals of caring for their employees and to always provide a positive and supportive work environment.
Along with other employees, Monson Savings Bank’s President and CEO Dan Moriarty was even lucky enough to snag a visit with Rose when she stopped by the bank’s Corporate Office in Monson. He had nothing but positive things to say about the entire Monson Savings Bank team and Rose’s contributions to their happiness.
“We have such hardworking and dedicated employees at Monson Savings Bank and I am grateful for their positive attitudes every day, despite how difficult the past year has been. I am so happy we were able to arrange for Rose to visit them, to offer them some comfort and relaxation during their workday,” said Dan Moriarty, President and CEO. “As for myself, it was wonderful taking a much needed break during the day to spend some time with Rose. She is definitely good at her job and I was more relaxed after her visit. Thank you to Rose and Tammy for making this visit possible.”
