
MSB Employee Spotlight: Aimee Kohn, Branch Manager, East Longmeadow
If you don’t know already, we have amazing employees at Monson Savings Bank and we want you get to know them. The MSB Employee Spotlight is an ongoing series highlighting the achievements, hard work, fun details and individual traits that make Monson Savings Bank employees so great!
Here is what Aimee had to share about her life and experiences.
I am a banker. I am a wife, mom, coffee addict and self-proclaimed TV show critic.
What is your role at Monson Savings Bank and how do you help your customers?
I am the Branch Manager and oversee daily branch operations as well as train and develop my staff so they can help each customer with whatever they may need. I am lucky to be a part of the new East Longmeadow Team and help grow and expand Monson Savings so more customers can see we are the best bank in the area.
What do you like most about your position?
I really love building relationships with new and existing customers and also providing my staff with opportunities and tools so they all can achieve their goals and reach their potential.
How long have you been with Monson Savings Bank?
I have been with the Monson Savings Bank team for 6 years.
What do you like about Monson Savings Bank?
The culture of Monson Savings Bank is very family orientated, not only with all of the employees, but with the customers as well. Each customer that walks through the door is treated as though they are family. I also love Monson Savings Bank’s connection to the community and how we always strive to be present so customers, and non-customers alike, know we are here and ready to help with all of their banking needs.
How do you feel connected to the local communities?
Being present in the community is very important to me and I like to stay up-to-date on town activities and what events are taking place locally. This allows me to be sure I am staying connected to what is happening in the local communities and to be of assistance when possible.
How do you feel at the end of the day after helping customers?
At the end of the day, I feel very accomplished when customers leave the branch happy and satisfied with their visit. For example, when I open a new account with all of the products and services we offer and they leave here happy stating they are relieved the process was smooth and easy, that makes me feel great and happy.
What are your roots?
I was born in Northampton MA, raised in Palmer MA, and currently reside in Wilbraham MA.
Tell us about your family or friends and what they mean to you.
My husband’s name is Jamie and we have two daughters,. We also have 2 dogs, a German Shephard named Dez and black lab named Jax. They mean everything to me and are my motivation in life.
What values are most important to you to uphold?
Dependability, honesty, loyalty and having a good sense of humor (not sure if that’s a value but it is important to me).
What are your hobbies?
Spending time with my family and friends, going on walks and binge watching Netflix, Hulu and HBO.
Favorite music?
Country music!
Favorite meal?
I love a good meal of lobster and steamers by the beach.
Do you volunteer anywhere?
I love volunteering and have in the past volunteered locally at events and immersed myself in the communities. The current environment has changed our in-person volunteering some but I do hope to continue volunteering soon.
